A backend system for scheduling and processing background jobs at scale, built as a two-service architecture — an API service (Express + Zod-validated routes) that accepts and manages job submissions, and a Worker service that consumes and executes queued jobs via BullMQ. Uses PostgreSQL (with migrations) for durable job/schema storage, MongoDB for supplementary data, and Redis as the queue broker, with email notifications via Nodemailer.
